Norwegian artist Ole Ivar Rudi’s iconic work is propelled by the pop’s disposable aesthetic: “As a kid I digested huge amounts of pop culture, and somewhere along the way I realized that there was actually someone out there making all that cool stuff. I promptly decided to become one of those people.”

Based in the beautiful and bohemian stronghold of Bergen (“A small city on the west coast of Norway that burns to the ground approx. every 200 years”), Olli is constantly embarking on new projects - and the process is set in stone: “I start out by sketching out design ideas with the cheapest paper and pens I can find. Then I clean up the good ones in Photoshop before redrawing them as sexy, sexy vectors in Illustrator. There is probably an easier way, I just haven't found it yet.”

He’s recently gained a Masters in Design. (“It was a long five year haul. Not that it will do me much good, I'll probably wind up living under a bridge, feeding off passing goats within a year or two.”)

When not sketching, Olli is a self-confessed music freak: “I've got a big collection with all sort of neat stuff in it. Mostly sixties beat and soul music, but there's room for just about everything from Cambodian garage rock to electronic weirdness.”
