Luke explains the thinking behind his cryptic and dizzyingly-fine design: “It’s about the horrible font we all love to hate, but it’s hopefully vague enough to be open to other interpretations by a wider audience.

“An e-pal of mine once commented how I used a “not-so-great” font in a particular design, and still managed to make it look good. Then she laid down a challenge to me: “Now do it with Comic Sans.””

Tech stuff: Although the design only uses four colours, the print actually uses six colours: including two whites (one as a base colour) and two blacks (the second black being the Comic Sans font that sits crisply on the second white).
